interclass over the past few days has been fine.
even if 9 points out of 5 games isn't that impressive, I think we're really beginning to find our touch, and have found the perfect formation from the last game against 4G.

On thursday we played 2 decent games against 4T and 4P, which ended 1-1 and 2-0 respectively, but ended off the day with a half-baked and simply dismal performance against 4B.
Glad to say I managed to score a goal! Even if it was pretty tyco, and i might, MIGHT have ksed seen almost as blatantly as shoujian did. haha.

then on friday, seen came up with a tactical masterplan, and placed himself in front alongside shoujian, which safe to say worked wonders. We played our best game so far, only to be disappointed by our finishing and a few decent saves by the opposition keeper. 0-0 it ended.

now seen is gone, and by the time he's back, people like timo and thom would be ready for games too. so till then, let's see what 4K can do with an even weaker squad than our already half-strength team.

let's keep our hopes up.

yesterday was surely an eventful day.

interclass soccer in the morning, shanzhi visiting right after interclass, 3rd lang, tennis with hernwei at junliang's hse, dinner at swensen's and finally pool with 4K at dhoby for Kieran's
bdae.

interclass was great. 2-1 whoooo! even though I can't say I did much, you can't believe how ecstatic i am that we won. i mean when we celebrated our first goal, everyone was like "why the hell are you celebrating so much? it's just a goal" and what they don't realise is that it's the first ever goal 3K/4K has scored during interclass!! not to bring up last yr's completely miserable competition, but yeah.

and it was great fooling around with the dudes. from singing kieran's birthday song just when everyone was ready to start the game, to all the teamtalks and dedication of our goals and the match to shanzhi, (whom, in case you've been living in a hole, is NOT dead.) i think we really enjoyed ourselves ytd. and of course the fact that we had the most supporters and substitutes down was really telling of how great 4K is =D

so yea it was great. even if I didn't get a single shot, and even if we didn't exactly play our best. =)

and onto shanzhi. BY GOD!! HE'S ALIVE!!!
haha. =D
we sent an army down to crash his place yesterday. an army which sort of ended up squeezing in front of his TV to play winning eleven. lol.
so congrats on a successful op pai kah. at least u're finally on the road to recovery.

and finally, after 3rd lang and junliang's hse, which I won't bother talking about, was of course dinner with 4K.

fantastic, needless to say. a really generous birthday boy decided to pay for our meal at swensen's (thanks kieran!) and to top the night off I had a fantastic game of pool with sean kie and shoij at my table. i actually had a 4 or 5-ball streak on one turn. wheee!

got home at 0030 last night. quite a relief to have this afternoon at home to rush some e-learning work and take a breather before thursday's spam of interclass matches.

for 4K!

fish & co. with 4K yesterday was simply fantastic.
i had new york fish and chips for 17 bucks. the cheese stuffing is really heavenly, although the portion was sooo big that I was full about halfway through. haha.

the glass house is a really magnificent place. the dim lights make for a fantastic ambience, even if they force you to rely on your handphone lights in order to read the menu clearly. and it was really great that shanzhi and aaron goh got the band to let them make a dedication and sing a birthday song for shoujian. that boy must be really touched =D

soccer in school with 4K once again at 2 later. looking forward to it even though i feel kinda tired after staying up late the past few nights.

i absolutely love this class.

i know this may sound a little deranged and all, but i'm actually really glad that school has started again. March Holz are the most meaningless shit anyway, and I was exceptionally put off that the supposedly 2 most fun days, namely thursday and friday playing soccer and settling class decor with 4K, were sort of ruined by MOTHER !@*(*!(@* nature and people who didn't even bother turning up on any of the 2 days with no valid reason whatsoever. And Zoo CIP on Saturday was honestly a huge disappointment, considering I had to miss DOH lunch for it, and had to sit there for an entire day half painting little kids' faces with frogs and half falling asleep, while being completely helpless about the huge amount of work that was waiting for me once I got home.

of course, one of the things i missed most about school was chong han guang's nonsense, and boy was today's chem lesson a welcome relief.

4K is playing the p*nis game in class:
Ram Chandra: SIR! Can you ask them to stop talking about P*nises?!?!
*Han Guang stares at him, starts laughing, raises his hands to the sky and prays for help while smirking his head off*

4K is throwing paper balls in class:
Chong HG: Guys, you all have paper balls, you know what I have? A duster. so the next one who throws a paper ball, i will throw the duster at you.
*Paper ball lands in front of him while he's writing on the board*
Chong HG: WHO DID IT?!?!?!
*i promptly stand up and point to seen*
*Chong HG REALLY REALLY throws the duster straight at him, but misses* Aww.
*Kieran picks up duster*
Chong HG: Throw it back in front!
*Kieran throws too high, and it hits the wall above the whiteboard*
Chong HG: Oh my god! That is a historic mark on RI!

he's godly beyond compare i swear.

oh and on a side note,

Au Revoir Arsenal!

oh and watching lian today was really...nostalgic.
good times, good times...

sob sob. =D

YAY! First night at my own home, sleeping on my own bed in 4 whole days! WHEEE!!

Gym camp was fun. all i can say is hanging out with the guys all over again was quite meaningful. and of course all the soccer, slacking, gaming in the classroom etc. haha.

had to go to mooty's house and stay over AGAIN for SS this time. Following which Mooty Junyong and I went on to school today morning to play soccer with the 4K peeps and take the class decor pictures. My picture looks so retarded. i was dribbling past shoij, but kie took it to make it seem like a shot, so it looks as if im some idiot who has no idea how to shoot properly. sigh.

oh yea i got my first pair of soccer boots! 53 bucks from queensway. exactly the same ones that shoij just bought recently. we were spending so long arguing whether i shld have bought the same pair as him. hilarious. about 10 of us from 4k went down to queensway today to look at a sample of our sewn-on class crest, get the photos printed and basically just hang out. I really love how we are all ever-willing to dedicate our precious holiday time to working on our class decoration and all. Great job 4K!!!

one last thing. this probably ain't news no more, but Jon Lian snapped his collarbone trying to do a handstand. gonna go under the knife 2moro, so we may go visit him or something. who knows. so pray for him or something. haha =)

let's admit it. anyone and everyone who's a football fan. we miss the hell out of this guy.

so it kind of rocks that he's recently getting himself back into the news, sparring with people like Wenger and Grant, and making his now famous statement that he wants to get back into English football and "Kill Chelsea".

mourinho is seriously, the most talented, charismatic and unique personality that has ever entered football, sports or even the news as a whole. no one can deny that. and that kind of causes me to question, what kind of horrible replacement is this guy?!?!

I mean he does have some sort of wit too; (really loved his response to mourinho doubting his abilities as a manager, saying that fish end up on dinner tables only because they open their mouths), but seriously, can you even see a hint of charisma in that neck-less head of his? -.-

to get knocked out of the carling and FA cups by Tottenham and BARNSLEY respectively is just horrid. and yet, I'm really happy that teams like spurs, barnsley and portsmouth are doing what they are doing to the Big 4. Someone needs to whack those clubs square in their heads and remind them that they aren't as big as they always think themselves to be. The mid-table clubs are rising, and they are rising fast.

you know what I see happening in the near future? mourinho taking over a mid-table team like Spurs or Portsmouth, and bringing all these clubs to the top of the table, flinging the ever-egoistical big four off their feet.

it's time to herald the English Football Revolution

after reading mooty's blog post, i kind of wanted to say my piece too.

so ms kuang scolded our class for not including the three-people-who-sit-in-front-of-mooty, and for picking our friends to join our ERP group instead of those whom we shared our reading interests with. and my first reaction is like, what? i think what ms kuang and alot of teachers never realise is that, when we stick to the same group of people all the time, it's not because we are unwilling to work with everyone else and are "elitist", "exclusive" or whatever, but simply because we have better rapport and dynamics with these people, and thus would feel much more comfortable working with them, since past experiences have proven that we work effectively and harmoniously as a group. personally there are alot of people in this class I haven't worked with, whom no one can deny that I consider great friends as well.

i mean, who can blame us for trying to snatch up those people we are sure of working well with right? personally, whenever a teacher asks us to look for a group to work in I would immediately turn to people like mooty, theodore, lian etc. not only because they're my good friends, but because I know that I can work extremely well with these people. that doesn't mean that everyone else I don't turn to, I don't consider a good friend as well right?

and about the three in front. they are, no matter how you look at it, the most exclusive and rigid clique there is in the entire class. like mooty has said, they really do not make an effort to go out and look for groups, and rather turn to each other whenever any group task pops up. people might say that it's our fault that they have ended up like that, that they feel so discriminated by us that they don't feel attached to the class any more or something. i know. but then I think to myself, have i ever gone up to spencer or ryan or even beng's face and told them something like "I WILL NEVER WORK WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU SUCK" or something? of course not. and i'm pretty sure no one in class has actually done such a thing.

instead of blaming the majority all the time, people really have to look at the 3 of them and think whether it's really 4K's fault for discriminating against them, or their own fault for not wanting to integrate themselves into the class. for ryan and spencer, i have no idea how they ended up like that in the first place. no freaking idea. seriously.

of course we all know what happened between 4K and beng. but seriously, is it our fault? we're all objective people, and definitely have not treated beng like that without any rhyme or reason. personally my impression of him took a turn for the worse when he made his English Reading Blog post on the little boy who died cycling (can't remember his name), and said that it was "god opening his eyes and punishing inconsiderate cyclists". I mean, how can anyone with half a heart even bear to say something that horrible? and as time went by, as beng continued to miss things like class-gatherings just because he felt "anti-social", he naturally became more and more detached from the class, and 4K felt as if he was less and less a true member of our united class.

and it's not like we don't give a damn about him. when he got injured in a fight with ryan, we showed a hell lot of concern. people running all the way to the canteen to get him a hot drink, asking him every few minutes whether he was feeling better; we definitely didn't do it just because "the teacher told us to", but because a member of our class was in distress we naturally tried our best to help. a few weeks ago, when beng came back after suddenly crying after PE and not coming to school for the next few days, ms kek and 4K tried to apologise to him and ask him about what happened, but all he chose to do was dao us completely. if you're not even willing to say your piece and try to come to a resolution with the class, what can you even expect us to do about it? in fact. i think he's even bearing a grudge against us now, supremely evident from the way he showed off after getting top in class for the chinese paper.

truly, and most unfortunately, our class has already reached that stage with beng. honestly there's already nothing we can do at this stage, except try our best to integrate him back into the class. and yet, even if he gets through this 1 more year with this supposedly "evil" class of his, who's gonna help him when he goes out into the real world? If he already feels like that in 4K, which honestly has already been as accomodating as possible to him, how is he possibly gonna survive in that harsh and cruel world out there?

if anyone thinks we're in the least bit happy that someone in our class has gotten detached to such an unfortunate stage, that person must be some deluded fool. think of our situation too.

and if you think that we're not doing enough to remedy the situation, let me ask you:

what can we possibly do?

yay! it's the march holz! the time where we all have nothing to do and can slack our heads off! I mean, just look at my holiday schedule xD

monday. gym camp
tuesday. gym camp
wednesday. gym camp till 2, probably trying to organise a project meeting after
thurs. soccer and class decor with 4K at school (although that's gonna be fun =D)
friday. class decor with 4K at school again
saturday. cip helpout at zoo from like 8am-5pm

i am so damn free this march.

p.s. something weird happened today. during physics, while filling up hot water in the polystyene cup, a huge drop flew out, shocked me and caused me to jerk my hand, which made half of the water spill all over my hand. 80 degrees celsius water. I was almost ready to scream in pain and shock, when i realised the pain wasn't that bad. hmm weird. I managed to fill up the rest of the cup, walk slowly back to my desk, setup the experiment before turning on the tap for some cold water on my hand.

it wasn't burning at all. as in like, at all. heck my skin barely even turned red.

they should put me on Heroes or something.

3 down. 1 to go.

Maths TA was nothing out of the ordinary. The usual tricky questions, lack of time to do anything proper. About 90% sure that I'm already gonna fail. As I said, nothing special really. Chem Prac was so WEIRD. there were a hell lot of reactions where the colour wasnt distinct, and where we couldn't really tell whether it was like a solution or a precipitate. whatever. luckily we had a relief teacher, which allowed for a little bit of "interaction".

Today's HistRA test was depressing really. "How far do the above sources agree with George Lefebvre's classical interpretation of the French Revolution?" I actually read it as how far do YOU agree, and was getting really excited since it was the question I prepared for, and so you can imagine how suicidal I felt when I read the question again after seeing shanzhi underline the word "sources" in his essay. I mean. IT'S SO RESTRICTIVE!!! It was nothing more than a source analysis skill test really. I would've rather had a question like, "What is your theory of the French Revolution?" or something. I actually spent like 4-5hours over the weekend typing out my own theory of the revolution, which was eventually rendered completely useless by the test question. sigh.
I quote myself, "That was an evil question Mrs Neoh. Evil"

to which she appropriately replied with an evil, evil smirk.

So it has come down to this.

I really can't believe we're already nearing the end of term 1. Mooty's right. Grad night's just up ahead, and my only worry is that I wouldn't even realize it when my last year in this school draws to a (spectacular?) close. Sigh.

Had another overnight meeting with the ERP guys on friday, only this time it was at mooty's much smaller yet equally cosy HDB flat. Needless to say, we had a much more fruitful session this time, both in terms of how productive we were at the task we actually had to complete, and the nice, long talks we had late at night, about school, work, girlfriends etc. Really made us realise that our entire lives really just revolved around school and each other. Set me thinking about where all of us will be after we leave RI, 5, 10 or even 20 years down the road.

And so, we're only a mere week away from freedom, and all we have to do now is to brave past all the obstacles that the teachers and the school have set out to kill us, like our Maths Test, History Test, Physics Prac, Chem Prac, ERP, CRP, SS UNSC debate, Philo, PE!! (no typo here, in case you were looking for one.) etc.

Sounds really easy doesnt it? ;)

So here's to the upcoming March Holz.
And here's to us.
